The quality of the cast iron is getting worse with decreasing shell thickness of the cylinder.
This means in consequence after repeated restoring of the surface:
With the reducing of the cylinder wall thickness due to wear and tear and the necessary grindings the cylinder loses its stability and thus the maximum load limit declines.
This process is progressive!
With the help of a proper full-face-coating of the cylinder with carbide, the described process can be stopped.
A full-face-coating should be planned and executed befor the cylinder reaches it´s critical phase to obtain the optimal machine performance for a long time.
Remember: you can´t achieve additional wall thickness with the coating!
