The quality of the cast iron is getting worse with decreasing wall thickness.
This means in consequence after repeated reworking of the surface:
With the removal of the cylinder wall thickness due to wear and tear and to the necessary grindings the cylinder loses its stability and thus the maximum load limit declines.
This process is progressive!
By a proper coating of the cylinder with carbide, this process can be stopped.
A full-face-coating should be planned and executed befor the cylinder reaches it´s critical phase to obtain the optimal machine performance for a long time.
You can´t achieve additional wall thickness with the coating!
